A wonderful cosy cottage, very well stocked with all the mod cons in a perfect location for the centre of Mousehole. We will be back! X

Great cottage in great location

Lovely property with the benefit of parking in a quaint village. Property was lovely, with everything we needed, along with high chair for little one. Would definitely recommend.

Great house, lovely location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great 10 day stay at The Old Exchange with my 4yr & 2yr old. Loved the property - nice & clean, well equipped (the room to hang wet beach clothes in was v handy!) with plenty of space for all your holiday clothes & buckets/spades & toys. Great to have a parking space which are in short supply in Cornwall. It was a very short walk to Mousehole harbour where our children loved playing - it's a small beach but handy for paddling in the water and some lovely cafe's nearby. Great location for lots of day trips out - we visited Lands End, Eden Project, Porthcurno Beach, St Ives, St Michaels Mount and spent an afternoon in the newly refurbished Lido in Penzance.

Anne & Richard provided some great information beforehand & answered all my queries really quickly. My children loved being able to walk to the beach in 2 minutes and get an icecream and we liked getting a good coffee!. There's also a very small play area right opposite the house with slide & swing.

We would definitely recommend.

Excellent cottage in Mousehole

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was perfect for our 4-night stay in Mousehole in mid-October. It is very well furnished and equipped and had been meticulously cleaned prior to our arrival. There is a private parking space in front of the cottage and it is located on a quiet lane about a minute’s walk from the harbour. We had delightful dinners on 2 nights at ‘2 Fore Street’, which is about 90 seconds walk away which we strongly recommend. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Old Exchange cottage and it will be or preferred location for future holiday breaks in West Cornwall

A beautiful retreat

  • 5 of 5

We arrived to a lovely welcome package and Easter eggs hidden by the Easter Bunny for the kids which meant a lot, great location, great having a parking space, lovely village shops (the Ark) and bird rescue centre up the hill. The cottage was beautifully fitted out, everything you could possibly need and the wood burner we are still missing....

Home from home

We fell in love with the cottage and could have stayed forever. There was everything you could possibly need and more. We were fortunate to have hot sunny weather and visited other beaches, some which were difficult to access, but still enjoyed them. The Rock Pool Cafe was a favourite for a coffee and cake. Thank you.

Favourite village, favourite cottage

  • 5 of 5

I really shouldn't give The Old Telephone Exchange in Mousehole a good review at all...purely so that we can guarantee our next stay! We've stayed there twice before and returning again in August which should give you an idea of how we regard the place.

Anne and Richard are very accommodating owners and will help out if possible. For instance we like to arrive early to maximise our time on holiday and we have always been allowed to drop off our suitcases etc before heading out to the beach and returning later after the scheduled 3pm official time.

The cottage is always immaculate and well presented. The cleaner does a great job and has the place looking spick and span. A nice bottle of Prosecco waiting for us was a welcome sight which went straight into the fridge and was 'sampled' on the first evening!

The Old Exchange has all the creature comforts of home, tv, hi-fi, books, games, telephone, everything needed for self catering...not that we do too much cooking when there. One of the biggest draws (as far as our little ones are concerned) is internet access and they logged on as soon as they got in! The house is big enough for a couple of weeks stay for a family of four with enough space for everyone. At the rear of the property is a cosy garden which traps the sun late morning and throughout the afternoon if you don't want to venture out.

The cottage has many plus points but the main one for me (being designated driver) is the parking. Anyone who knows Mousehole, appreciates that private parking comes at a premium and the pull-in/driveway for The Old Exchange is a massive benefit. Before finding this cottage tucked away in a quiet part of the village, we had stayed at other cottages that didn't have parking which (for me) took the shine off the holiday.

In relation to Mousehole and the surrounding area, it's our favourite part of the country...we're biased but you simply cannot go wrong. Newlyn, St Ives, Lands End, Porthcurno, Penzance, St Michael's Mount, the Lizard peninsula...the list goes on. World class beaches & beautiful green seas, moorland & wonderful weather, for us it's unrivalled.

As for The Old Exchange, it is home from home and I can't pay it any higher compliment than that.
